About this role
We are seeking a highly motivated Azure Architect to champion the expansion of CGC’s secure FedRAMP Authorization boundary into Microsoft Azure. As the lead Azure Architect, you’ll possess a unique blend of technical mastery in Azure and a deep understanding of how FedRAMP controls impact these technologies.
At CGC, you will:
- As an Azure Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex cloud-based solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. You will play a critical role in shaping our cloud strategy and ensuring that our solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
- Continuous Monitoring in Azure: Partner with the Security Operations Center (SOC) leader and team to develop a robust plan for extending CGC’s continuous monitoring capabilities to the Azure environment, ensuring alignment with existing processes.
- ISV Engagement: Lead the engineering integration efforts with Azure-native Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) transitioning their solutions to the CGC platform.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Azure Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud services including compute (VMs, Azure Functions), storage (Azure Blob Storage, Azure Files), networking (Virtual Networks, Application Gateways), and security (Azure Active Directory, Azure Security Center).
- Solution Design/Architecture: Proven ability to design and architect scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions on Azure.
- Experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates for infrastructure as code (IaC) deployments.
- Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
- Understanding of Azure Monitor for logging and application health insights.
Kubernetes & Containerization:
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts and architecture including deployments, services, pods, and namespaces.
- Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes or AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service).
- Familiarity with container image management tools like Docker or Docker Hub.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug containerized applications running on Kubernetes.
In addition:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible, in addition to ARM templates.
- Scripting experience with languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with developers and other IT professionals.
- Extensive experience in systems administration, with a proven track record of collaborating with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) on FedRAMP authorizations and control implementations.
- FedRAMP – Deep technical knowledge coupled with a thorough understanding of FedRAMP requirements. You will possess the ability and desire to engage with technical leaders from leading software companies as they navigate FedRAMP and StateRAMP compliance journeys.
- Excellent program management and organizational skills.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, adept at handling multiple tasks and shifting priorities effectively.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
- Demonstrate strong independent work ethic while also excelling as a team player across various tasks. You possess the ability to identify and achieve goals that are realistic and contribute to CGC’s overall success.
